Stop and smell the Global Warming

February 20, 2007

Hi Brit,

I believe I may have mentioned that the Global Warming Scare is about forcing social change and making money?  If not, consider it mentioned now.  Here’s another little bit of the life style make over the environmentalist wackos are planning for our future, Humans’ beef with livestock: a warmer planet.  The reason for this is that part, a large part, of their supporting mob are the lunatic “meat is murder” crowd.  This is just a bone to keep them in lock step.  Of course, they haven’t taken into consideration that the cause behind the massive flatulence capacity of cattle is their vegetarian diet.  Remember the old saying: “beans, beans, precious fruit.  The more you eat the more you…”  This, if they were rational, would leave them in paradox, keeping them paralyzed with circular thought, until their heads exploded.  I’m afraid our luck isn’t that good, since they show few signs of thought.  I would also point out, that this another example of why it is so important to liberals to disarm the general public.

Polish invasion of England complete

February 16, 2007

Help, I need an exit boat! You will recall from past posts Grit that England is experiencing high levels of immigration, particularly from the former eastern European states. It appears from an article in one of today’s newspapers, that it has now become a total takeover. A local council in the Midlands has been surrendered to the Polish people and no doubt other areas of the country will quickly follow.

You may wonder what is causing me such concern. The answer can be found here. The council in question has put up local diversion signs – in Polish. Despite the fact that it is rumoured that the local Polish population is only 6%, there is obviously something the council officers know that we don’t. Similarly, although officers at central government state the signs are illegal, is this just a ploy to lull us into a false sense of security?

I will be watching developments.

Anti-smoking police – £29.5 million

February 15, 2007

The UK government are at it again. Just when one thinks that they cannot waste any more money, the powers that be come up with yet another crazy scheme to waste our money. Not satisfied with all the cameras that are spread around the country, nor with the increasing powers that are given to police and local authorities, they have decided that we still cannot be trusted on our own.

This time it is all to do with the impending “smoking ban” which comes into force later this year. Under the new laws we will be banned from smoking in all public places. That includes bars, shops and resturants. The owners of such establishments will also be liable to fines if they allow people to breach the ban in their premises. However, as is this is not enough incentive to uphold this law, the government have decided to spend nearly £30 million ($60 million) of our money to train what they call “smoking” police.

The task of these officers (undercover of course) will be to wander around all of the establishments trying to spot the illegal smoker in the act. What has to be borne in mind here, is what happens if a smoker is standing outside of a shop and the smoke from his/her cigarettes drifts into the shop? No doubt they will be fined for a “passive” smoke offence.

With this, and the recent case of smoke penetrating the wall into a neighbours house, it is not hard to imagine waking up one day to find one of these new “fag” detectors encamped in the cupboard under the stairs.

MP travel expenses

February 14, 2007

Hi Grit

All of the debate about travel costs, its effects on Global Warming and the need to conserve energy is generated by politicians. However, today figures have been published that show just how two-faced these people can be, especially in the UK. You need to bear in mind that there are around 634 MP’s and that the travel expenses are in addition to their salary and other expenses.

The current report reveals that the cost of MP’s travel for 2005-06 was a staggering £4.5 million ($9 Million). Of this £2 million was spent on car travel, £1.5 million on trains and £1 million on Flights. This equates to over £7,000 per MP, or £136 per week, and these figures are rising. However, as can be seen from the report, some MP’s are claiming as much as £44,000 per year, an incredible £850 per week!

There are a number of issues here. Firstly, these same MP’s are telling us to cut down on our road travelling, whilst at the same time failing to take their own advice. On the one hand the government is saying that the congestion on the roads is reaching a gridlock position, yet at the same time over 44% of their own travel is adding to the problem. The difference is that we, as lowly citizens, will not be able to reclaim any “rush hour” mileage cost imposed upon us, whilst the MP will be reimbursed. Every £1 an employee spends on mileage costs them £1.30 of gross income.

Secondly, they keep saying that we need to reduce our carbon footprint and reduce energy consumption, at the same time as they are increasing their own (or perhaps we should all walk so that they can travel in luxury!). Our tax authorities penalise us for the type of vehicle that we drive. For example, the tax levels on a 4×4 (SUV) are far more stingent than a small saloon. For an MP this is not a problem as they reclaim all of their expenses direct from the government.

Thirdly, there are no budget constraints on MP spending. They do not have to answer to anyone regarding the level of their expenditure. Any family is aware that they have to budget their expenditure to match their disposable income, or they will suffer the problems of escalating debt. Similarly, every employee knows that their expenses will not be sanctioned by their employer if it is considered to be unreasonable, and that continual extravagance will be rewarded with unemployment. A corporation is aware that cost control is vital to attracting business growth. An Mp’s attitude is directly opposite to all of these, safe in the knowledge that Joe public will be made to pay for their representative’s extravagance through the tax system, either directly or by stealth.

Standing alone, the MP’s travel expenses are bad enough, but when you add to this their other annual expenses, which on average work out at £110,000 ($220,000) each, and their salary of between £57,000 and £150,000 depending upon their position, it all adds up to an enormous public cost. What is worrying is that this represents just a small fraction of the cost of our government and civil service. In my view the time for “accountability of government” is NOW!

Stupid liberals!

February 11, 2007

Hi Brit,

I was reading this, Hybrid-Only Car Service Launches in San Francisco, and it hit me as to just how stupid liberals are, as a general rule.  The key point in this is that, according to the story, the idea is to make rich people flying into Nanny Pelosi’s home town feel better by taking “green” transportation around town, after dumping untold tons of greenhouse gas into the atmosphere while flying in a fuel waisting jet.  Then I read the details, and was shocked.  Keep in mind that the article is tainted with the usual liberal bias, even though it does throw in a tiny hit about the jet travel thing, but it also includes, “with a fleet of leather-seated Priuses.”  I’m sure that the reporter, not knowing squat about Global Warming, didn’t think twice about this.  However, the secondary part of the Climate Change Conspiracy, the one that really gets the radical liberals frothing at the mouth over its potential for bringing about social change, is the implication of cow farts in heating up the globe.  That would, of course, be the methane content in the massive flatulence produced by our bovine food supply, which is an excuse for left wing groups to insist everyone turn vegetarian.  Thus the paradoxical nature of a “green” car with leather seats.  Oh, well, I am assuming that the leather was produced from cow hide and not Jews, but that is most likely a safe assumption.

Tony Blair at home

February 9, 2007

Hi Grit

For those who don’t know a lot about Blair and his official home, here is a site that lets you take a tour around it. It will walk you through all of the rooms where important decisions are made and you can click on items of special interest to learn more. Unfortunately it does not allow you into his private accommodation.

Other interesting fact from this site include some interesting quotes from previous PM’s, dating back to the 1740’s, which our friend Tony might do well to refer to. For example:-

William Pitt the elder (1766-1788) “Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it.”

Henry Addington (1801-04) “In youth, the absence of pleasure is pain, in old age the absence of pain is pleasure.”

Sir Robert Peel (1841-46) “There seem to me to be very few facts, at least ascertainable facts, in politics.”

Marquis of Salisbury (1886-92). “English policy is to float lazily downstream, occasionally putting out a diplomatic boathook to avoid collisions.”

Arthur James Balfour (1902-1905) “I am more or less happy when being praised, not very comfortable when being abused, but I have moments of uneasiness when being explained.”

Andrew Bonar Law (1922-3) “If I am a great man, then a good many great men of history are frauds.”

Clement Richard Atlee (1945-51) “Often the experts make the worst possible ministers in their own fields. In this country we prefer rule by amateur.”

Sir Alec Douglas Hume (1963-64) “There are two problems in my life. The political ones are insoluble and the economic ones are incomprehensible.”

Interesting!

The true face of liberalism, another chapter.

February 8, 2007

Hi Brit,

Let us imagine that a conservative candidate for President discovered that, in the past, two of his/her staffers had written evil nasty things about gays or Hispanics.  What do you think the lot of those people would be?  Terminated immediately with great fanfare and many apologies for ever being associated with such horrible people, is the correct answer.  However, if a liberal candidate for President has the same situation, with the exception that the writing was anti-Catholic hate speech, Edwards Won’t Fire Bloggers For Catholic Church Criticisms, you can plainly see that the attitude is completely different.  Obviously, liberals are perfectly OK with hating certain groups, as long as they are listed in the Big Book of Political Correctness under Evil Groups Approved to be Detested.  Unfortunately for Edwards, he happens to fall into one of those categories, the Evil Rich.  Of course, the liberal press are unlikely to point that out, or even mention the linked story.  Typical.

No cover up here!

February 8, 2007

Hi Brit,

 photo14.jpg

I mentioned earlier that Paris Hilton needed to release another sex tape to take attention away from her recent bout of Politically Incorrectness.  Well, there is a new celebrity sex tape about to be released, although it only stars a friend of Paris, Vivid Acquires Kim Kardashian Sex Tape for $1 Million.  It seem, as usual, the tape was stolen and sold by a Third Party.  Even pop culture tarts of Hilton’s stature can’t sell such a thing, since that would make them actual whores instead of just sluts.  While Kim doesn’t look all that trashy in the above photo, she tramps up pretty good:

 ursulamayesfeb132cmlj7.jpg

The other amateur porn star in the flick is someone or something named Ray J.  My guess is that this is just a warm up for another Paris Porn Picture to get her back in the good standing with her Hollywood friends.  Of course, if celebrity sex tapes fall out of favor, will Kim and Paris be required to attend pornhab?

And I thought Muslims were touchy…

February 6, 2007

Hi Brit,

Brace yourself.  We may, just may, get the chance to follow events as a new addition is made to Politically Correct speech.  You probably recall that one of our Presidential Candidates, Senator Biden, complemented a fellow Candidate, Senator Obama, by saying he is articulate.  He also said he is clean, but we’re beyond that for the moment.  However, according to, The Racial Politics of Speaking Well, “articulate”, as said of a black person, may soon be on the Politically Correct Big List of Bad Words.  I’m not sure I completely follow the logic of the piece, but, it seems to make the case that calling one African-American articulate, implies that most aren’t well spoken and, thus, is a racial insult.  I can hardly wait to see how far this goes.  Who knows, in a few years we may not even be able to speak to or about a tenth of our population.

Is there gayhab in Paris’ future?

February 6, 2007

Hi Brit,

Remember back when Isaiah Washington had that moment of homophobia?  Do you also recall that Paris Hilton committed a similar politically incorrect indiscretion?  Well, it seemed for a while that she was going to miss the storm of criticism that forced Isaiah into gayhab, but she’s not out of the woods just yet: Gay Leaders Urge Paris to Apologize.  Now she has GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) on her ass, demanding an apology.  Better do something fast, Paris, before your image is tarnished.

The face of liberalism comes into focus.

February 4, 2007

Hi Brit,

Here, Democratic Committee Member Quits Caucus Post After Confrontation, we have yet another example of violence and racism in the Democratic Party.  Alvaro Cifuentes, it would seem, got a little tired of the shabby treatment minorities get at the hands of the DNC (Democratic National Committee), and let his true nature shine through, long enough to try to physically intimidate an aide to Howard Dean, and managed to get in a racial slur, calling a black man “boy,” before being physically restrained himself.  What darkness lurks in the minds of men, the liberals know.

Paris Hilton – Racist!?!

February 2, 2007

Hi Brit,

Well, Paris has, apparently, opened her mouth once too often:

PARIS HILTON SPITS N-WORD AND F-WORD: And the video proof is on YouTube.

Possible Racist Paris Hilton Video Surfaces Online

If this is true, even rehab may not fix it.  If this is true, even apologies may not fix it.  The only recourse the empty headed heiress has that may in some small way repair the damage this will do to her public image is to release another sex tape.  Who cares if this trashy twit is homophobic or racist?  The only thing people care about is seeing her naked.  So Paris, show us your tits and all is forgiven.

The mask continues to slip from the face of liberalism.

February 1, 2007

Hi Brit,

It seems that the recent victory of the Democrats may well be their destruction.  Power has already started going to their heads, and, in the internal struggle for position and status, their true nature is coming out: Sanchez Accuses Democrat of Calling Her a ‘Whore,’ Resigns from Hispanic Group.  True or not the accusation brings to light the sexism rampant in the liberal camp, while the very existence of a separate group open only to Hispanics shows their embrace of racism.  No wonder liberals are so eager to pass laws against these things; having these afflictions themselves, they assume the worst in everyone.

Are you ready to rumble!

January 31, 2007

Hi Brit,

I mentioned that there can be many nasty comments made about fellow party members during the course of the primary campaigns.  Well, it’s already starting, Biden Unbound: Lays Into
Clinton, Obama, Edwards
.  As the days and weeks march on, keep in mind that this is just a warm up 🙂

There is one quote in the piece that attracted my attention, and is now getting a lot of discussion on the talk shows:

about Mr. Obama. “I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

This, you should note, is about as vicious as a liberal Democrat can be toward a black man in his own party.  I suspect that Senator Biden is in for a bit of trouble over that remark.

Tony Blair and the real reality

January 30, 2007

Hi Grit

Over here we have today a real “reality” programme playing out and this time it stars the PM Tony Blair. You will remember the “cash for honours” scandal of a few weeks ago. Well last week an aide of Blair’s from Downing Street was arrested for alledgedly deleting e-mails from the computer system. Today Lord Levy, Blair’s fundraise was arrested, this time for conspiracy and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

The noose is getting tighter and, unless he is very lucky, Tony Blair could find himself in a very different position from the one he holds now. The long arm of the law does not recognise the offenders position in life (hopefully!).

NGO’s empowered

January 30, 2007

Hi Grit

I read with interest your comment about power being delegated to committees and am really thinking that you and your fellow Americans would not feel at home in the UK, despite popular beliefs.

The problem with where power lies and decisions can be made in the UK is even more complex than the US. Like you, we have a system where governments, when they get into power, think “don’t need the electorate now!” so they delegate some of the most difficult laws and regulations to those who do not have to vote on it. For example, when there was all the furore about big business, ancient men (notice I did not use the word wise?) were gathered together to define new regulations to control corporate governance. This produced a regulation that, whilst not law, was orchestrated in such a way that if a corporation did not implement, they would be delisted from the stock market. No voting on that then!

Similarly, the government passes a lot of regulations that it does not want to bother Parliament with, to outside NGO’s, probably because they feel that we as voters, apart from being surplus to requirements, would be too confused by the issues to make a sensible decision. Of course the other way that the politicians can sidestep the due process of democracy is to take a leaf out of John Reid’s (the Home Secretary) book. He changed the way our legal system worked within twenty four hours by simply writing to the Judges and asking (so he says) that they stop imprisoning guilty criminals.

Finally, as if this wasn’t enough, we in the UK have another non-democratic “big brother” showering us with laws and regulations like confetti at a wedding. It is called the EU. In my view the European Union structure is an ideal place for politicians who are tired of allowing themselves to be subjected to the vagaries of democracy. They sit in their ivory towers constructing regulations about matters in which they have no knowledge nor have been asked to interfere with, and churn these out at the rate of knots. Of course no-one outside of the EUSS (European Union Secret Society) is asked for opinion or allowed to cast judgement. Thus suddenly us mere mortals find ourselves waking up in the morning to find that we cannot have milk in our coffee because the EU have deemed that milk should not be cream in colour or something stupid like that.

The moral of this of course is that there is always someone worse off than you 🙂

2008 Elections

January 28, 2007

Hi Grit

Thanks for the information on your 2008 Presidential elections. As Solomon once said (although I hasten to add this is heresay as I wasn’t there at the time), those who give wisdom empower others. However, in this instance, as the UK papers have passed little comment about any of the potential candidates apart from Hilary Clinton, I am of course little the wiser. No doubt more will become clear as the months move on.

I was pleased to note that some of the normal traditions of the Presidency race are being kept. Naturally, the exhorbitant funding levels will be maintain as candidates attempt to buy the office. The one tradition that caught my eye though, was the area of candidate scandals. I notice that this is already moving into full swing as people look to dig the dirt. A number of candidates are already revealing themselves in this area as I found at this address.

Sometimes nothing changes.

Jo, Jade, Danielle and Big Brother

January 27, 2007

Hi Grit

I am afraid that the Big Brother show will go on for the next three days at least. Take today for example. I found Jade Goody on the front of no less that a dozen magazines and 5 newspapers. As for Jo, she is one of the gang of three who were involved with the racism and bullying and has faced a public reaction similar to Jade. It is expected that the same will be the fate of Danielle, who will leave the house on Sunday.

Did I hear you say that you don’t know who Jo is? Surely you remember the band “Steps” from the UK 🙂 a few years ago. It was a boy/girl combo band that failed to achieve much success outside of our shores. Jo was one of the singers, only her vocabulary and elocution appears to have deterioated dramatically from then.

Yes it is true that we have laws over here, which can be exercised by the police if they feel that the words and actions promoted race hatred. Actually, we do not have that book of political correctness and the fact that you might have relatives of a different national origin can not be used as an excuse for the comments that were made in this case, should the police wish to pursue the matter.  In this case they have already contacted Jade and her mother and asked them to attend interviews, and intend to do the same with Jo and Danielle as soon as they are free from the big brother house. So it appears that they are taking the incident very seriously and all three will have a serious problem, on top of the dislike from the public and their career damage.

Of course the real crazy part is that the TV production company was in a position to have not allowed this to become public so yes, as you say Grit, they deserve a kick somewhere. They could have bleeped or shut the viewing down during the situation, instead of which they allowed it to run live and then repeated it on at least two occasions.

One two more days to go through my friend.

the Brit

Will it never end?

January 27, 2007

Hi Brit,

While I like you personally, I’m thinking of writing my Congressmen and demanding they declare war on England.  The reason, why to stop your Big Brother race problems being all over the Internet!  Stop it! Stop it! Stop it!  Now they’re going on about some singer, Jo O’Meara, that I’ve never heard of, or heard for that matter, because she imitated Shilpa Shetty’s voice?  Who cares?  This article, Big Brother star Jo denies racism, points out that Jo has Indian relatives, which, according to the Big Book of Political Correctness, when combined with any semblance of an attempt at humor allows some mocking of accents.  Don’t y’all keep up with these things?

Besides, the lass obviously has no idea what she’s doing most of the time.  For evidence I offer this quote, “We was doing that with her and she was finding that really funny.”  Add to this that she has, apparently, posed nude, and I think we can drop the racism stuff.  Of course, that article also mentions that: Before Friday’s show, a police spokeswoman said: “An investigation into allegations of racist behavior inside the Celebrity Big Brother house is continuing.”  Now, I know that y’all do things a bit differently over there, but I had no idea you had criminalized racist speech.  No wonder your jails are full.  Goodness, if we did that over here, it would be easier to move all the people who HAVEN’T said anything racist into one small state and declare the rest of the country a prison.

So, Brit my friend, I would consider it a great personal favor it you would stroll over to the Big Brother set and slap who ever is in charge silly.

Gay me up!

January 27, 2007

Hi Brit,

I don’t know if you caught the scandal earlier this month when actor Isaiah Washington, on Grey’s Anatomy, let out his true feeling and called a fellow actor a cigarette.  What that has to do with being a homosexual is beyond me, but that was what the remark was intended to mean.  Of course, that was totally Politically Incorrect (even for a black man), and Isaiah has been working hard to kiss enough liberal ass to let him stay a liberal in good standing.  Now he’s resorting to the homophobic equivalent of rehab, Isaiah Washington Seeks Counseling .  Lucky thing he didn’t call that fellow a cigar, or he’d be finished for sure.
