The true face of liberalism, another chapter.

Hi Brit,

Let us imagine that a conservative candidate for President discovered that, in the past, two of his/her staffers had written evil nasty things about gays or Hispanics.  What do you think the lot of those people would be?  Terminated immediately with great fanfare and many apologies for ever being associated with such horrible people, is the correct answer.  However, if a liberal candidate for President has the same situation, with the exception that the writing was anti-Catholic hate speech, Edwards Won’t Fire Bloggers For Catholic Church Criticisms, you can plainly see that the attitude is completely different.  Obviously, liberals are perfectly OK with hating certain groups, as long as they are listed in the Big Book of Political Correctness under Evil Groups Approved to be Detested.  Unfortunately for Edwards, he happens to fall into one of those categories, the Evil Rich.  Of course, the liberal press are unlikely to point that out, or even mention the linked story.  Typical.

I think the percentage of Catholics in America is about 16% or nearly 1 in 6. Surely there are enough voting to swing an election one way or the other, and most certainly a primary.

If these women had chosen almost any other group to inflict their bile upon, it wouldn’t be that big a deal from a numbers standpoint.

We know anti religious fervor boosts many in the Dem party, except for Imams. Funny how the DNC last week stood quietly, heads bowed and eyes closed and listened to an Islamic fanatic pray for their conversion.

Mr Edwards has possibly sealed his failure by pandering to the far left and it’s pocket books rather than acting with principle and respect.

I’m guessing one of those two lefties will hang him eventually. In order to get their jobs back, they had to denounce years of wildly bigoted and just plain hateful diatribe.

    Who else is running?

    Hi i,

Amazingly enough, most Catholics vote Democratic, just like most Jews? So far, no one that I have found has done any research (and released it) on who Muslims prefer. Edwards was sunk when he bought that giant mansion and announced his tax increase for health care plan. Still, it’s a strange world, so …

As to who else is running, surprisingly enough, Health Care Hillary. For that matter, I do believe Candidate Obama has expressed an interest in Socialized Health Care. Biden made that “clean African-American” remark. Which leaves us with Dennis Kucinich 🙂 Ah, I do love politics, until someone gets elected.

Of course, none of the Republican Candidates are all that exciting. Could this be the year of the Libertarian? I just heard a bit on Fox News where Clint Eastwood was making their case…

By the way, I know where your avatar comes from, I’ve seen the movie, I just can’t remember its name?

Network, William Holden and Faye Dunaway.

Howard Beale, the network anchor allowed to lose his mind in full public view, made a classic statement that I always liked:

“I’m mad as hell, and I’m not taking it anymore!!”

Sadly, the actors name escapes me.

I like the fanatical look in the guys face. I know how he feels. lol

I think I’ll leave him as my public face. Mines not pretty, and I am a good bit younger.

    Hi Grit

Edwards is not as much a player as the media would have you believe. In these dangerous times it’s not likely anyone with no experience will get the nod. That’s also bad news for Mr. Clean.

    Hi i,

Oh, I knew that! I love that movie, especially where everyone is shouting out their windows. I shout out of mine on a regular basis, but, living in the country, there’s not much of an audience 🙂 As to pretty faces, my wife agrees that mine was made for blogging.

    Hi LC,

As I see it, Edwards is just blocking for the bigger name liberals. He will put out the fringe ideas, take the heat, then fade out. This gets their knee-jerk base fired up, gets some press coverage, and, when he throws in the towel, causes them no pain. I’m waiting to see the Republican version.

Speaking of dirtying the air, I think it’s time Bush no longer flew all over the nation to raise money for the GOP on America’s dime.

Also….WHY DOES THE MILITARY HAVE SUCH A BIG EXTRAVAGANT PLANE TO BEGIN WITH? Who, when the republicans were in charge, was using that plane that Nancy will be using? Huh? Republican lobbyists? Could be.

Plane-envy is such a republican bias.

  7. kayinmaine Says:

Catholics are democrats? Bah hahahahahah, oh Brit. You’re funny.

  8. britandgrit Says:

    Hi k,

Yes, at times I am funny. However, if you check the polling data, the majority of Catholics are registered Democrats. Helping the poor and all that, seems to overcome their distaste of liberal ideas toward abortion and gay marriage. Of course, since they have their own, very good, school system, they don’t care how badly Democrats mess up the public schools, so that’s not an issue.

As to the extravagant military passenger planes, I wonder the same thing. The stated purpose is for taking US delegations to foreign countries. However, I tend to feel that groups of Congressmen should ride in the back of standard military cargo planes, just like our troops, if they wish to leave our boarders on “official business.” Of course, this has been going on for decades and can’t be blamed on any one party, but is a product of the lax standards our elected representatives are held to in a two party system.

Expressing disagreement with someone’s religious beliefs is not the same as attacking them for characteristics over which they have no control. To try to equate the two is a feeble right-wing attempt to justify their prejudice against gays and people of different races.
