Another liberal on the take!

Hi Brit,

Once again there is news that the “culture of corruption” in Washington is still around, despite the campaign promises of the Democrats.  As a matter of fact, it would seem that another Democrat has been caught taking lobbyist money for political favors.  Representative John Murtha (D – Pa.,) you know, the get out of Iraq now twit, has a long term deal with (gasp!) lobbyists for Defense Contractors to channel hard cash into his non-profit organization for special attention on legislation concerning their companies.  Nonprofit Connects Murtha, Lobbyists

Not to worry though, I’m sure Nanny Pelosi, who seems to hate all things military, will make a concerted effort to get to the bottom of this evil.  I suspect Murtha’s days in Congress are numbered.  Of course, there is that tendency for our liberal politicians to ignore corruption by one of their own, President Clinton for instance, so the number of Murtha’s days may be quite large.

Hey, you know more across the pond about our Nanny Pelosi than most Americans. Why is that? See my blog at I think you will like it.

    Hi Mick,

Actually, that would be the Brit who is in England. I live near Memphis, Tn. Of course, that’s still a long drive from the Left Coast 😉

OK, now I get it. Grit as in grits. I live in Houston now. I left the Left Coast to the progressive liberals. Watch their home values crash and their taxes rise.

    Hey Mick,

Yeah, at one point we were thinking of calling it “Warm beer and grits,” but decided it was too long and didn’t rhyme. Besides, and unbeknown to me, the term “grit” is much used in England. Thus it works on several levels.

Houston! Cool town. The Cowboys are one of my favorite teams. They don’t really understand barbecue, but, other than that, it’s a great place. I had a relative there for years, until she got married and moved to Atlanta.

Of course, Tennessee still doesn’t have a state income tax! Which is why we had a pair of artists from LA move here last year. They quickly moved on to Florida (another state with no income tax) because it was a bit too country for them 🙂
